The yachts included in this year's THE MEGAYACHTS USA start at 85ft in length and are all either American owned, American built, or designed expressly for the American market. We have attempted to choose a cross-section of motor and sailing yachts. Our sail selection ranges from Shenandoah, the classic three-masted schooner built at the Townsend and Downey Shipyard in New York in 1902 (and rebuilt at McMullen and Wing in the late 90s) to the ultra modern high tech Alloy-built 159ft Georgia launched in New Zealand - the first new yacht of the millenium. The motor yachts are as varied as the no nonsense 184ft expedition style Samantha Lin from Halter Marine in Louisiana - to the innovative and wild 244ft Katana, launched at Blohm & Voss, but recently transformed at Lürssen by her owner into a Japanese-style Zen sanctuary with a basketball court!
